How to request deletion from the app
Deletion is requested from inside your signed-in account, so that only you can delete it. In the mobile app:
- Open the app and sign in.
- Tap Profile in the bottom navigation bar.
- Scroll to the Privacy & Security section.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Tap the Delete account button, then confirm with Schedule deletion.
The same screen is where you cancel the request later, using the Cancel deletion button that replaces it while a deletion is scheduled.
If you no longer have the app
Deletion cannot be started from this website. There is no self-service deletion control in the web portal today, and we will not delete an account from a form that anyone could submit on your behalf. If you have uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, email us from the address on your account at [email protected] with the subject Account deletion request. We will verify that you own the account before scheduling the deletion, and it then follows exactly the timeline below.
How long it takes, and how to change your mind
Nothing is deleted on the day you ask. Making the request schedules the deletion for a date 14 days later and shows you that date. Your account keeps working normally throughout those 14 days.
During that 14-day grace period you can cancel the request, from the same screen you started it on. Cancelling stops the deletion completely and leaves your account and data untouched.
Once the 14 days have passed and the request has not been cancelled, the erasure runs automatically. It is permanently irreversible: the data listed below is gone, your account is disabled forever, and it cannot be restored or recovered by us or by you. Signing back in is not possible; you would need to create a new account, which starts empty.
What is erased
When the deletion runs, the following is permanently removed:
- Your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, gender and profile photo.
- All messages you sent, every edit you made to them, their read receipts, and the media attached to them: photos, audio, video and documents.
- Support tickets you opened and every reply you wrote on them, plus any product feedback you submitted.
- Your community posts, comments, reactions and reports, and your membership of every community.
- Your course lesson progress, book reading progress and audiobook listening progress.
- Your certificates and the certificate PDFs generated for you.
- Your saved addresses, except where one is attached to an order that has already shipped, in which case the recipient details on it are overwritten instead.
- Your notifications and the push registrations for your phones and tablets.
- Your sign-in credentials and sessions: password, one-time codes and every signed-in device. If you signed in with Apple, we also ask Apple to revoke the linked token.
If you also held a consultant profile, its public page, name, biography, specialities, availability and calendar connections are erased and the profile is taken offline.
What is retained, and why
We cannot delete everything. The following is kept after the erasure runs:
- Payment and order records, including receipts, refunds, refund reviews and subscription history. These are financial records we are required to keep for tax, accounting and payment-dispute obligations, and they stay linked to your account identifier so they remain auditable.
- The purchases and access grants those payments paid for, and the record of how that access was used.
- Scheduled and past sessions, kept as a booking record. The meeting link, private notes and timezone details on them are erased.
- Our security and audit log. It is append-only and records who did what and when, which is what makes it usable as evidence in a dispute or a security investigation. It includes the record that your deletion was requested and completed.
- The account record itself, which is anonymised rather than removed so those financial records keep a valid link. Your name becomes Deleted account, your email is replaced with an unusable placeholder, and the account is permanently disabled and can never be signed into again.
Cancel any paid subscription separately
Deleting your account does not stop billing you did not set up with us directly. If you subscribed through the App Store or the Play Store, cancel that subscription in the App Store or Play Store as well, otherwise it will keep renewing after your account is gone.
